Why Medical Estheticians Work With Dermatologists
This past week, I read an insightful article by Alix Strauss on Charlotte’s Book that offered a view into a trend that Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy has been proud to have been enabling – the role of medical estheticians at Dermatologist offices. Ms. Strauss highlights how “clients are flocking to top dermatologists’ offices for facials from the medical estheticians that work within the practice”. My question is why are our students increasingly earning employment from Dermatologists? I found the answers in ‘Why Medical Estheticians Make the Perfect Threesome’.
The article spotlights how medical esthetician “services are specifically crafted for the client, addressing their skin condition in a completely medical/scientific way” and achieving “impressive results” via “impeccable training, and state-of-the-art technology.” Notably, the Dermatologist is right next door providing access for an expert opinion or an update on the latest medical trends and insights.
The Dermatologist and Medical Esthetician are often able to charge 2x or more vs. what a premier spa may charge by offering exceptional value added services and “therapies like ultrasound, microcurrent, LED light therapy, peels and dermaplaning.
Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy is proud to offer a Basic Esthetics and Master Esthetics coursework that equips our students to earn gainful employment as a medical esthetician.
