SCHEV
Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy is certified by SCHEV, the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia). The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) is the Commonwealth’s coordinating body for higher education. SCHEV was established by the Governor and General Assembly in 1956. SCHEV’s mission, which is outlined in the Code of Virginia, is “to advocate and promote the development and operation of an educationally and economically sound, vigorous, progressive, and coordinated system of higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia and to lead state-level strategic planning and policy development and implementation based on research and analysis …. The Council shall also seek to facilitate collaboration among institutions of higher education that will enhance quality and create operational efficiencies and shall work with institutions of higher education and their boards on board development.” The State Council for Higher Education for Virginia can be contacted via:

NACCAS
Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy is accredited by NACCAS, the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences. The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) is an autonomous, independent accrediting commission constituted as a nonprofit Delaware corporation, with its main office located in Alexandria, Virginia.
NACCAS is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (link is external) as a national agency for the institutional accreditation of postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences, including specialized schools. It presently accredits approximately 1,300 institutions that serve over 120,000 students. These schools offer over thirty(30) courses and programs of study that fall under NACCAS’ scope of accreditation. DPOR
Dermal Science International Aesthetics & Nails Academy is licensed by DPOR, the Department of Professional and Occupation Regulation, Board of Barber and Cosmetology. DPOR issues professional credentials—licenses, certificates or registrations—in the least intrusive, least burdensome and most efficient way.
DPOR’s goal is to ensure the minimum competency necessary to practice without harming the public, not to enhance professional stature or limit competition by keeping newcomers out. Policy boards determine the minimum standards necessary to enter a profession, and qualify applicants based on a combination of education, experience and examination.
